Peer Review Process
How JERIMS evaluates manuscripts fairly and rigorously before publication.
JERIMS Publication follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and academic integrity in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts. In this system, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
Stages of peer review
1. Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, basic quality, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors without external review.
2. Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to qualified independent reviewers. Author identities are removed from the manuscript, and reviewers remain anonymous to the authors. This ensures that the evaluation is based solely on the quality, originality, and scholarly merit of the work.
3. Reviewer Evaluation
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
- Originality and contribution to the field
- Methodological soundness
- Clarity of presentation
- Relevance to the journal's scope
Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommend one of the following:
- Accept
- Minor revisions
- Major revisions
- Reject
4. Editorial Decision
The editorial team considers the reviewers' recommendations and makes a final decision. Authors will receive detailed feedback to guide revisions where applicable.
5. Revision Process
Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript based on reviewer comments. Revised submissions may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation.
6. Final Decision and Publication
Once a manuscript meets the journal's standards, it is accepted for publication. The editorial team ensures that accepted articles meet quality and formatting requirements before final publication.
Confidentiality and Ethics
JERIMS maintains strict confidentiality throughout the peer review process. All participants are expected to adhere to ethical standards, avoid conflicts of interest, and respect the integrity of the review process. For full detail, see our publication ethics and malpractice statement.
Commitment to Quality
Through its double-blind peer review system, JERIMS ensures that all published work meets high academic standards while promoting fairness, transparency, and scholarly rigor.
